So for this Arcade Racer, no detail was spared anywhere in the graphics department, they look great all around! Of course this game can’t be compared to a realistic retail racing game such as the Gran Turismo or the Forza Motorsport franchise. The other cars on the track with you also look good. Driving over snow also will cover your car.
Waterfalls, puddles, mud, snow, dirt, everything looks great, and interacts with your car, i.e., if you are driving over mud your car will get covered in it, and then if you were to drive through a puddle it would wash off. The environments in this game don’t miss any detail. The cars have detail in the paint scheme, decals etc. But nonetheless, the game looks pretty, and 30 fps gets the job done, there are no frame rate issues that I have seen. The 2008 installment runs at 60 fps at a 720p resolution for the game cabinets as opposed to the 30 frames per second of its console counterpart due to the power of the new Sega Europa-R arcade hardware. It is essentially the same title, except with a few extras including the original Sega Rally 1995 Desert track. Developed by Sega Racing Studio and published by Sega Amusements Europe, 2008’s Sega Rally 3 was re-released in 2011 on Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network as Sega Rally Online Arcade.
